Parking
Parking
Security Services administers and enforces the University Parking Regulations on all three campuses (Carlton, Sexton and Studley). These Regulations are obtainable from Security Services, which is located on the Parkade Level of the Marion McCain Arts & Social Sciences Building. Parking Permits for each year (September 1 to August 31) may be purchased at Security Services. These permits, which include annual, term, weekly or daily, are all available, at various prices, at any time throughout the year.
Parking Regulations
University Security and Parking Committee
As there are a limited number of parking spaces on University property, purchase of a Parking Permit does not guarantee a place to park.
Guest Parking
Visitors may park at any one of the metered parking spots at the University or, alternatively, may purchase a Visitor Permit from Security Services.
Commercial Parking Permits
A limited number of commercial parking permits are available upon request for contractor or service persons who are required by the nature of their work to bring their vehicle(s) to the University.
Parking For Persons with Disabilities/Medical Conditions
There are a number of parking spots designated by the International Wheelchair Symbol, situated at various locations on Carleton, Sexton and Studley Campuses. These are reserved for persons who have purchased University Parking Permits and whose vehicle displays the Accessible Parking permit. All others using these spots may have their vehicles ticketed and towed. Reserved parking may also be made available to persons with certain medical conditions. For more information, please contact the Director of Security (494-6400), e-mail michael.burns@dal.ca or Peter.Brown@dal.ca.
Appeal Policy
Individuals wishing to appeal a traffic ticket should call Security Services and arrange to meet with the Traffic Officer between 1:00 p.m. and 2:00 p.m. on any weekday. The Chief of Security will not normally override the decision of the Officer unless a very clear case to do so is submitted in writing by the appellant.
RideShare Program
A RideShare (Carpooling) Program is available on University property, which offers reserved parking for individuals registered with the program. Information regarding the RideShare Program may be obtained in University Parking Regulations, or by contacting Security Services (494-6400).
