Charge-Out Rates
Charge-out rates for all billable work performed by the Department of Facilities Management.

Client Reception
Acts as FM's single point of contact by responding to client questions, service requests, event bookings, comments and concerns or redirecting them to the appropriate person or unit.
|

|
|
Communications
Develops and implements a communications and marketing strategy for FM, to promote the sharing of accurate information with the right people at the right time, while maintaining compliance with the University's branding initiative.
|

|
|
Custodial Services
This division is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of all academic and administrative buildings and houses. In addition, the unit provides cleaning for the common areas in residence facilities, the dining areas of food service locations and Dalplex (sports and recreation facility).

Event Bookings
Event Bookings is part of the Client Reception division. All non-sessional academic events are booked through this unit. Event Booking is responsible for the allocation of
common pool classroom space needed for the non-sessional activities, as well as liaising with the Conference Office in the organization of event bookings.

Grounds
The Grounds Services division is responsible for maintaining the 79 acres of property which comprise the Carleton, Sexton, and Studley Campuses of Dalhousie University.

Mail Services
The Mail Services staff process over 13,000 pieces of mail daily.
|
|
|
|
Maintenance
For building maintenance and repair work, the Dalhousie campus is split into three distinct areas geographically. These areas are referred to as Zones. Each Zone is staffed to perform by a dedicated team of professional trades personnel.

Parking
Security Services administers and enforces the University Parking Regulations at all three campuses (Carlton, Sexton and Studley). These Regulations are obtainable from Security Services, which is located on the Parkade Level of the Marion McCain Arts & Social Sciences Building.

Policy Management
Develops, maintains, and provides accessible policies and procedure documents for all areas of Facilities Management.

|
|
|
Projects
Project Services oversees and co-ordinates all capital projects, additions, renovations and major maintenance projects for the University. |

|
|
Property, Lease and License Management
All aspects of University property / real estate management, with the exception of student housing, are handled by the Planning unit.
|
|
|
|
Security Services
Security Services is located on the Parkade Level of the Marion McCain Arts & Social Sciences Building. This division of Facilities Management, is responsible for the safety and security of life and property at Dalhousie University.

|
Tiger Bus
The Shuttle Bus service is available to all students, faculty and staff of Dalhousie University. Your Dalhousie Identification Card will serve as your boarding pass, so make sure you don't forget it!

|
|
Tiger Patrol
In conjunction with the Dalhousie Student Union, Security Services operates the Tiger Patrol, a student-staffed, walk-home and patrol service on University property.

|
Transportation And Moving Services
Transport Services operates a single University vehicle, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

|
Waste Management and Recycling Services
Fine paper, newsprint, corrugated cardboard, beverage containers and batteries are recycled on campus. As well, organic waste is also collected from several sites and sent to a compost facility. Please place these items in the appropriately labeled receptacle nearest you.
